2018 Greater Nashua Sprint Triathlon:
Welcome to the ninth annual Greater Nashua Sprint Triathlon presented by the YMCA of Greater Nashua and The Center for Physical Therapy and Exercise. Whether you’re a first time triathlete or a veteran you will enjoy our clean lake, rolling hills, smooth run, as well as our hospitality and convenient race venue. You will also be racing to help good causes.
Many athletes will have their friends and families at the race cheering them on. This support is an important part of the race. We will have activities for the kids and food vendors at the race for your “support crew”. Come join in the fun!
Swim: 0.3 miles (580 yards)
The swim will take place in picturesque Lake Naticook which is a small freshwater lake at Camp Sargent on Lake Naticook in Merrimack, NH
The route is roughly triangular.
ATTENTION: The bike leg will be approximately 12-16 miles.
The 2014 route is currently being determined due to bridge construction on Manchester Street. Helmets:
All athletes are required to wear a bicycle helmet during the bike event. In addition, all helmets must be securely buckled prior to leaving the transition area. Riders will not be allowed to exit the transition area unless their helmet is buckled.
LOCAL TRAFFIC WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE RACE ROADS DURING THE RACE.
Please be safe and watch for traffic at all times.
Police will monitor the crossing of all major roads and at other locations.
In addition, police on motorcycles will monitor the bike route and escort the lead cyclist.
The course will be generously marked and all turns will have extra markings.
There will be volunteers at several locations.
A vehicle provided and staffed by Goodale’s Bike Shop will travel the course and assist any racer and follow the last racer.
All racers will need a number on their bike.
All numbers are included in the registration bag.
Only upright bikes are allowed in this race.
Recumbent bikes or bikes with fairings will not be permitted to race.
Bikes should be in good mechanical condition.
Drafting is NOT allowed.
Water: There will be no water on the course; riders are strongly urged to carry a water bottle on their bike.
A repair tent is anticipated near the transition area to assist with any minor fixes or tire inflation.
Run: 3.1 miles
The run leg will exit the Camp going west and will follow a loop and return to the race finish area.
The run is relatively flat on local roads west of Camp Sargent.
