The new ORCA Openwater SW women’s wetsuit for both triathlon and open water swimmers is the first of its kind. This suit has everything you want: it is Smart, has built in Safety, provides Support and Speed. The built-in technology increases your safety, allowing you to enjoy your open water swim even more. The suit is made from Yamamoto 39 neoprene, the same quality material you are accustomed to from ORCA wetsuits. This smart wetsuit uses 2 mm Yamamoto at the wrist, forearms and calf. The underarm gussets and shoulders are only 1.5 mm thick, providing flexibility and mobility of the shoulders so you can maintain your nature stroke. The ultimate seal collar is only 2 mm thick to provide extra comfort to improve buoyancy. ORCA designed the chest and back to be 3 mm thick, and increased to 3.5 mm throughout the abdominal area to provide you buoyancy and warmth. The high visibility orange sleeves and legs make you even more visible in the open water. Two other products that can be utilized for additional visibility and safety are the Hi-Vis Swim buoy and the neoprene swim cap.
The ORCA Openwater SW wetsuit has incorporated the Emerid system, click here to check it out, the first to ever be used. Emerid is a universal identification system which uses NFC- compatible Smartphone technology, instantly providing the athlete’s information in the event of an accident or emergency. All you have to do is place your mobile phone near the incorporated wetsuit device. This will show the athlete’s vital data, location and training time. A recent feature development identifies that after training minutes have been set, if the swimmer has not stopped the clock, the system will reach the emergency contact previously indicated by the swimmer via email.
With safety in mind, ORCA even went further by incorporating the Restube Ready system. The Restube Ready system is a compact safety buoy that can be activated in an emergency. All these features will make even the most timid swimmer feel safe in open water.
